Diwali Gifting 2026: Why a Length of Raymond Fabric Is the Gift That Always Fits

Diwali Gifting 2026: Why a Length of Raymond Fabric Is the Gift That Always Fits

Every October the same two people walk in. One is buying for forty staff and wants it done in an afternoon. The other is buying for one father-in-law and has been thinking about it for a week. They leave with the same thing — a length of cloth in a box — and for the same reason: it is the only gift we know that fits everybody.

Why cloth, and not a shirt

A ready shirt has a size, a collar style and a colour that someone else chose. A shirt piece or suit length has none of those problems. The person who receives it takes it to their own tailor, gets their own fit, and thinks of you every time the garment is worn. We have yet to see a length of good cloth come back.

A starting map. Prices are per metre on the site and change with the cloth — every design page shows its own price, and the app calculates the exact length.

For the office order, tell us the number and the budget per head and we pack it as one lot, labelled. For the single, important gift, come and feel three cloths side by side — or ask us to send you a photo of the shortlist on WhatsApp.

Three things that make the gift land

Tell them the metres. Write it on the card — “3.25 m, enough for a two-piece” — so the tailor is never guessing. Our guide on how much fabric a suit needs has the table.

Give it unstitched, with the mill named. The Raymond ticket on the cloth is part of the gift; people trust what they can read.

Do not guess colour for the puja. For an uncle you know, wine or green. For a client you know less well, navy or charcoal — the two colours nobody has ever been unhappy to receive.

Order by mid-October

Diwali is on 8 November. Courier across India takes a few days, and if the recipient wants it stitched for the festival their tailor needs two weeks. So the comfortable date to order is the middle of October; office orders in numbers a week earlier than that.

See the Raymond gift packs, browse suitings we recommend for gifting, or WhatsApp us on +91 99100 34000 with the names, the number and the budget — we will send back a shortlist with photos the same day.
